Nitrox Diver

• To Introduce Divers to the use of EANx 32 & 36 as a diving gas.
• To teach the use of EANx 32 & 36 within No Stop dive times.
• To teach the safe use of Nitrox with BSAC 88 table and Air Computers.
• To teach the safe use BSAC 32 & 36 tables and Nitrox Computers.
• To teach and assess competence in the use of Gas Analysing apparatus.
• To assess theory knowledge with multiple-choice written test.

DURATION

• One Day - Classroom studies only

ENTRY GRADE

• BSAC Club/Ocean Diver
• Current evidence of Fitness to Dive

APPROVAL

• Course approval procedures apply.  A BSAC Nitrox Diver student notes pack must be supplied to each student.

• This course must be led and staffed by approved BSAC Nitrox Instructors.
• A register of approved BSAC Nitrox Instructors is maintained by the Chief Examiner at BSAC HQ.
• Ratio - One Instructor for every eight students.

FACILITIES

• A suitable classroom for theory lessons, with enough space to spread Nitrox cylinders for practical analysing lessons.

The following equipment will be required;

• Nitrox cylinders containing Nitrox 32 or 36 mixes
• Oxygen Analysers.

Nitrox cylinders must conform to the BSAC recommendations: in test, in Oxygen Service and correctly labelled.

QUALIFICATION
This course concludes with a practical and theory assessment. Only those who pass these assessments will receive the Nitrox Diver Certificate, Badge and qualification record book certificate.
